Duck Tape 101

Well, Jonathan wanted everyone to know what he learned from his grandfather Virgil-how to use duck tape. He "fixed" my car with some this week and really thinks he had done something big! Another use for duck tape!

Zoocation

We took a mini vacation during our spring break. We had a day in between ball games and took advantage! We went to the zoo in Tyler, TX. It is really beautiful down there. I have a few pics, but not many. My camera battery went dead so we had to start using our phones. We still don't know how to use our phones 100% so I will add more pics later. We took our friend Rachel and the girls and the parents had a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!
I thought this little guy was to cute. They had a "year of the frog" exhibit that was great. He had to say hello to me since he knew I was a frog person!

We lost, we lost....

we ate the applesauce. 6-1 final score against Prescott. They threw a D-1 prospect at us that was throwing 89-90 all night. They kept the gun on him and he was amazing. A lefty at that. Our boys did get more hits than them, but you just can't defend those home runs. An error at 2nd scored one for them and a base coaching/running mistake cost us a run or two. Our boys did play hard and never gave up (this is new for them from the past few years). Our pitcher did a nice job. He was no where near as strong as their guy, but played his heart out! Like I said, we got more hits than they did! Friday we play Ashdown which is a non-conference game. Monday we are back to conference play against Lafayette County. Should be a good game!!!!!! I'll keep you posted- hee hee hee!

We won, we won....

We shot the bb gun!!!!!!

We finally beat Horatio!!!!!!!! In the 5 years we have been here, we have never beaten this team. Tonight was the night. They are the defending state champions from 3-A. Our pitcher Kenny had 9 strike outs and threw only 86 pitches which makes a total of 21 strike outs for the last 2 games. We had several triples hit tonight and scored 4 runs. The final score was 4-0. Our first baseman played an amazing game and the entire team looked like kids I don't know. They were so fired up and ready to play some baseball and stayed that way until the game was over! Right now that has us 3-5 in play, 2-1 in conference. I'll keep you posted on the rest of the week. We play Prescott tomorrow at their place. Should be an interesting game. To bad Kenny can't pitch again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO BIG GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!

More hunting...

Cantley got invited to hunt eggs with our wonderful neighbor Barbara's family this afternoon. She was so excited and really did a good job with out hardly any help from the adults. She got a ton more candy and another $1.00. She has had a wonderful Easter today. Here are some pics of her hunt, spilling her eggs, and her friends.

Easter 2008

Our Spring Equinox balanced egg kicked off our Easter weekend. We got it to stand on Thurs. around 6:30 and it was still standing when we got home from school on Friday. We thought it would fall on it's own, but Cantley got a hold of it and cracked it all over the counter. We still thought that was pretty neat!
Mom and Cantley dyeing eggs. This was a stressful event for mom!
Making faces with my funny face egg!
Look what the Easter Bunny brought me!!! And check out the eggs I dyed last night!

Hunting Easter eggs the bunny left all over our living room this morning! They were full of candy and money!!!!! She got $2.37. Pennies go a long way when you think all money is equal!
Cantley in her Easter Dress!!!!
Cantley fell asleep while taking her breathing treatment. She is just loving her new "My Little Pony" friend Rainbow Dash.

Face Lift....

Well, I just can't thank Hilary enough. She custom designed our new look for the blog and I just love it. It totally captures Cantley and fits us in there as well. I hope you guys enjoy the new look. You can check out Hilary under our friends links to the right of the page. I still can't get over what a great job she did....all while being a full time student at Ohio State! Thanks Ashley for the hook up! Most of all, thanks Hilary for a wonderful job of personalizing our blog!

Baseball Update...

Well, the dragons got back on the winning side of life on Monday night. WE defeated the Fouke Panters-our big rival-15-2. It was a good game and most of the guys were able to put the ball in play. OUr pitcher was awesome throwing only 78 pitches in 5 innings with no walks, 2 hits, and 12 strick outs. It was great. We got rained out of a make up game that was non conference on Wed. We will play at home on Monday against Horation-conference-and hit the road for another conference game on Tues. against Prescott. This is our spring break so they will also play on Friday at Ashdown (nc). I'll try to keep you guys posted on those games. We hope to take Cantley to the zoo one day that week in Tyler so I will get pics of that on here as well.

Happy Spring everyone!

Watch out for the mailbox!

Just a warning to everyone-watch out for those big blue postal mailboxes. They will puncture your vehicle at a very low rate of speed!!!!! I hit one on Monday this week and you can see in the picture what it did to my 4-ruuner. Yes-that is a hole in back along with a nice size dent. They have to replace the entire lift gate-HOW FUN!!!!!

Feeling a little better!

Cantley is feeling a little better today. Her cough still sounds bad, but we are seeing more of her personality coming back. She played a little dress up today and put on a show for us. Check out the video below!

She might be sick, but....

Well, most of you know that Cantley has RSV. This is the same thing that brought her to the hospital at only 10 days old. Luckily our Dr. is letting us treat this one at home, although he was on the verge of admitting us. She also has a severe sinus infection. We are now on breathing treatments 5-6 times a day, steroid breathing treatments twice a day, 20 days of antibiotics, nasal spray, and cough meds. She does seem to be better today, but it will still be a while before she is back to herself. Although she isn't feeling well, a girl must keep up her appearance. Our friend and baby sitter Rebecca came by and gave us some great baseball style nail treatments on Friday night. Thanks again Becca!

Funny Faces

I forgot to include these in the last blog, but Cantley even made some funny faces for me. She loves to make them for us and even for Bada over the phone. Enjoy!

A busy morning....

Well, Cantley has had a busy morning. First she started out as herself, but needing a red hat. She decided she needed to call Nana-do-boo(aka: Nana, nana, boo, boo). She dialed the numbers all by herself. Did I mention it was 6:45 a.m.? Anyway, she talked to Nana a while and then we started making breakfast. She got to help daddy crack eggs and even managed not to drop them all in! After she was done with that it was princess time. She got all dressed up and danced around until breakfast was ready. After breakfast she decided she would now be a chef. She put on her chef hat and began to "cook" in her kitchen bringing mom and dad some "food" to eat. After she was done with that episode, she put on her robe and crown and put a chair in front of her mirror so she could see herself dance. The funniest part of all is that she did all this from around 7:20 until 8:30!!!! She is still at it as I write. Hope you are all having a restful Saturday. We would love to know what that is like!!!!!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

First I'll start with the snow. We got a lot yesterday, but it quickly faded. CAntley was excited to see it fall, but wanted nothing to do with it when she thought she had to put on her ski clothes. I guess we now know how she really felt about snow skiing! Here is a picture of our house and what our street looked like. As you can see, our house didn't get much thanks to our giant pine tree out front!

1-3

Well, we got off to a great start to quickly find the down hill slope. We were in the Atlanta, TX tourny this weekend and it was horrible. The teams in that tourny are usually 4A or 5A in comparison to AR and we are 3A barely. I thought they did alright on Thursday, but today they stunk it up badly. Jonathan is having one of those moments that most coaches go through at some point, wondering if it is him and something he is doing or just the mentality of his players. The program here is still very new and there is not really a tradition or pride for baseball just yet. Something foreign to someone who played for the state championship his senior year and lives and breaths baseball. If you have any encouragement to offer him, you can e-mail him at jgosdin@dragons.k12.ar.us.

We play again on Monday if the weather permits. If you are looking at the schedule, you can take off the Dierks tourny-we're out of it and will be having our 2nd annual baseball camp that day.

I'll keep you posted as we go along!!!! Thanks for checking us out!
